Var and I walked down to the NW Isis (Maritime) Center on Saturday afternoon, the 23rd of August. The patio was all set up for a wedding, with the alter standing at the foot of the dock, looking out to the sea. "Mary’s wedding" I thought. I noticed three powerful motor yachts rafted up together just offshore - three Sea RAYS. These high horsepower yachts resonated sea horses to me, arranged in a trident formation. Perhaps the father of the bride had arrived.
On SUN day, the 24th, a 6.1 richter scale earthquake struck Northern California, as synchronystically predicted by Loren Coleman in his 8/20 post Trident Alert, Watch August 24
Poseidon’s trident was aimed squarely at Napa Valley — wine country. Speaking mythically, the “country of wine” would be the Kingdom of Dionysus — the God of wine. We’ve studied Di quite a bit over the years here on Gosporn, connecting him to the ancient Greek mystery cults that likely became the early Christian Gnostic cults, with Jesus standing in for Dionysus in the role of ego-death savior. It is no accident that the most sacred of Christian rites involves a cup of wine, or that Jesus is called “the vine”. We suspect the wine was spiked.
Bacchus and his bride, Ariadne. Titian, 1522
Fun sync, the first miracle of Jesus recorded in the Gospels takes place at a wedding, in Cana of Galilee. As a favor to his mother, Mary, he turned the water into wine.
Tom Bacchus on the Vine posted a rare homoerotic update to his blog today. Bacchus was the Roman version of Dionysus.
Angels and Demons sync: Galileo and Galilee - a "union"of science and religion, or Ego and Id.
MOSCOW — A meteor streaked across the sky and exploded over Russia’s Ural Mountains with the power of an atomic bomb Friday, its sonic blasts shattering countless windows and injuring about 1,100 people.
I've become fascinated by video footage of the vapor trail and shockwave from the Valentine's Day Russian meteor.
"It's war of the worlds, we're under attack..."
Note the Saturnian scythe
As already noted, Russia is "the bear", and syncronauts have been monitoring bear syncs for weeks prior. I personally became interested in the Russian bear syncs when Bill in Exile posted an article on the 18th: The Bear, featuring the Russian Tupolev TU-95 strategic bomber {NATO reporting name: Bear}.
When I was in the Marines I had a buddy who was a Marine F-4 Phantom pilot who was based on Okinawa and who used to have to scramble to intercept these bad boys when the Soviets would test our air defense systems.
He said that the engines — because of the propeller design that allowed them to rotate faster than the speed of sound — made the aircraft the single loudest plane in the history of aviation.
So loud in fact that he said that even with his flight helmet on and the sound of his own plane’s J-79 jet engines just behind him, the sound of the TU-95′s engines was almost deafening when he tucked in next to a Bear like the Phantom in the picture below.
Note lightning motif on tail.
Var sent me this story about a contest to name Pluto's moons: Pluto Rocks!
The rock 'n roll, stone pun is as old as Mick Jagger, but it still works. It made me think of barelyhuman11's (BEARily human) fascinating examination of Back to the Future via Greek myth.
According to Lloyd on Mt. Olympus, Marty McFly is Pluto, who joins with his brothers Neptune (Enchantment Under the Sea Dance) and Jupiter (Doc Brown) to defeat Saturn or Chronus (time).
We first meet Marty entering Doc Brown's lab, running his skateboard into a case of Plutonium (the ID), and then creates a destructive sonic boom.
The central sphere and three concentric rings of the amp resemble the rings of the planet Saturn - a foreshadowing of Marty's role in the destruction of the clock tower, or time.
I'm afraid you're just to darn loud.
Pluto is Hades, Lord of the Underworld. Osiris also becomes a God of the dead after he is murdered, and so also Jesus, and more or less every King Kill character ever worshipped. He is Marty the Martyr, as Darren points out:
Perhaps, Pluto/Jesus' Delorean has just arrived... back from the future.
For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. ~Matthew 24:27

NOTES:
This is Gosporn's 666 post.
I have an orange Eddie Bauer down vest and every time I wear it, Var smacks his fists together and says "Dork, thinks he's gonna drown!"
The first time the orange life vest and bears entwined for me was back during a road trip to Port Townsend in 2010. See A Road Trip With VALIS.
2/15/13: Delorean Time Machine is BACK!
The original, screen used Delorean from "Back to the Future" has been restored! This vehicle, referred to as the "A" Car was featured in all three films and has been expertly restored by the team at The Time Machine Restoration Team.
Today. Sept 12, is iPhone 5 day - the unveiling of the phone that is supposed to save the nation. This is a curious sync because I watched Captain America - The First Avenger, the evening of 9/11. I hadn't planned it, just discovered it was available on Netflix.
It's curious because Captain America is also the savior of the nation, and he's all about the five pointed star - the pentagram. I call him the masculine Columbia. Here he is, first using the door/gate of a Lucky Star cab as a shield.
The Lucky Star Gate
I've been carrying around 5 copper pennies in my pocket lately, mostly because I keep seeing a copper colored Honda Element stalking me, and I know this makes me crazy, but because of the JC Penney's in the background of the Twin Pines Mall in Back to the Future. The Honda Element represents The Fifth Element. Maybe the iPhone 5 represents a better connection? I mean, Jobs was Moses, right? He's all about "text messaging God".
The cosmic cube book mobile
I had to borrow some cash from Varen for lunch, he gave me a $5 bill, and a) Lincoln is on the penny and the $5 and b) he was the savior of the nation.
Peggy Sue, I love you
Captain America (Steve Rogers) is a gene-spliced super soldier from WWII, while his arch-nemesis is Red Skull (Johann Schmidt), a gene-spliced super Nazi (Not-See). (Red Skull played by Hugo Weaving, another spider sync.) They battle it out and even though Schmidt is more intelligent and ruthless, Cap has a secret weapon - Peggy Carter. Peggy is the dark-haired girl who has faith in him, and I know this is a stretch but she is also represented by the Cosmic Cube that Red Skull covets.
Joe Johnston directed Captain America and The Rocketeer, they are almost the same movie. The cosmic cube is the rocket pack, Jenny is Peggy, and all of them are the Fifth Element - the aether, or Quintessence. The Nazis understand the power of the subconscious, but they don't want a relationship - they just want control.
The United States, at least before it was completely taken over by paper clipped Nazis, represented a divine union between ego and Id, often called the alchemical wedding - E pluribus unum. That's why Joe has Steve Rogers busting through a bridal shop, dressed in white, right after his transformation - he becomes "The Bride of Christ".
This is MY wedding, bitch!
Perhaps Captain America isn't so much gene-spliced as Jean spliced.
What, are we spinning webs again?
I imagine that Joe is perfectly conscious of all the symbolism in his films, though it is entirely possible that he's not. It's the little things, like that "Audrey's Bridal Wear" shot, and the fact that the first shield is a red star, that makes me wonder if Joe isn't a secret patriot.
"The Nazis took over their own country first." ~Dr. Abraham Erskine
I've been reading about the Beat Poets and their rebel cause - a rejection of the American materialism that was being built around them - the fascist state of Leave it to Beaver. Most of them were leftists and a good deal were homosexuals, the derogatory term "commie pinko fag" being well earned.
But now, gays are welcomed into the black iron prison along with all the rest - equal opportunity slavery. Hell, we even have a black man as leader of the empire now, and we like to pretend that means the empire is getting sweeter, but really, who are we kidding?
The Means of Production
It's the famous Labor Day Weekend, the last chance for worker drones to enjoy summer before "I owe, I owe, it's off to work we go". Thoughts naturally turn to a socialist tilt about now, and I was musing how my marxist friends are always going on about "the control of the means of production". That's key. "They" control it, "we" work in the factory. "We" should control it, then everything would be cool.
The Memes of Production
The first thing anyone who has any designs on changing the world order goes after is the media. The means of production first begin as the memes of production - ideas. Ideas are controlled through the media, and once those are controlled, the wheels of industry can begin to turn in your direction. That's why media managers at Black Iron Prison Inc. are so well compensated - they run the Memes of Production.
The Moms of Production
If you look at garment factory pics, it's women who do most of the work, and making the world is indeed "women's work". She is the divine subconscious, the creator or weaver of our reality. She gets told what to do, and in minutes, the sewing machines of the 3D reality engine begin churning, and out comes the Simplicity Pattern of your life.
And that's why it's really important to control the Moms of Production, if you want any customization in the pattern that is being fit. It's one size fits all in the mass media meme machine, choose your pattern - soldier, sailor, tinker, spy, but it's all off the rack, you know?
Seize the means of production - the factories and factory towns, and the memes of production - the media and all their outlets, but you will still be left empty handed, robbed of your work, unless you gain control of the Moms of Production - your very own subconscious.
Of course, the divine paradox is that you cannot tame the shrew until you submit to her. I'm trying to listen to my inner subconscious worker, maybe let her run the factory for a while. Who knows what kind of garment she might sew, and to what she might give birth.
Happy Labor Day, everyone. May we not labor in vain.
Over the past year, the German shepherd has become a powerful “totem animal” at Gosporn. Mostly associated with violence, the fierce herding dog has become an incarnation of Shiva, a messenger of the Gods, but a messenger with real teeth - one I dare not ignore. So my ears pricked up with the discovery that Rebel Dog, the new icon of the Greek Riots, was described as a German shepherd:
Amid the turmoil of the Greece financial crisis, photos and videos of street protests have turned up a kind of canine "Where's Waldo" figure: a mutt that may have some German shepherd genes, and clearly has a strong interest in civic disorder.
See this remarkable site about Rebel Dog and an excellent article at Secret Sun that draws the semiotic connections.
The even greater risk to the European banking system from a Greek failure is that it would bring very much into play Portugal, Spain, and Ireland. These countries, which between them have around US$1.5 trillion in sovereign debt, suffer from similar, albeit less acute, public finance and international competitiveness problems. And they too are stuck in a Euro-zone straightjacket that severely constrains their ability to deal with these problems in a credible manner.
This fascinating pictograph of European financial entanglements strangely echo the state of European affairs a hundred years ago, just prior to the First World War. Before 1914, the five Great Powers of Great Britain, France, Germany, Austria-Hungary and Russia controlled Europe, and it was through a system of paranoid alliances that these powers kept an uneasy peace.
Substitute a modern central banking house for a house of royalty, and well... you do the math. Especially when you consider that the entire world, thanks to “the global economy” is in a similar condition to Europe a hundred years ago. We’re all “Europe”, and it always starts in the Balkans.
Omens aside, I’m even more intrigued by the “Rebel” aspect of Rebel Dog. Because I keep finding the “rebel” synch in the strangest of places, and this has been going on for months. The most hilarious is this pic of a new race boat posted at the popular sailing site “Sailing ANARCHY”.
But the rebel archetype goes way back for me, considering that my high school called itself "The Home of the Rebels". What IS it about the rebel?
Glad you asked, because the latest rebel synch comes from the Mythulinity blog, who reminded me of Tom of Finland’s character named - Rebel!
Rebel was inspired by the American “greaser” icon from the 50’s as expressed via James Dean and Marlon Brando. This archetype winds its way through American pop culture like a brooding but irrepressible, and perhaps irresistible, rogue. Later incarnations include John Travolta as Danny Zuko in Grease, and Fonzi from Happy Days, where he was pretty much domesticated.
Rebel is a homo erotic icon because he is expressing overt and unapologetic masculine sexuality - Eros. He could care less about ideas of monogamy, shelter or saving for college. His “house” is his bike, and he goes where the wind blows. He fucks who he wants to fuck, and to hell with the consequences. At least a gay biker doesn’t leave a bunch of unwed mothers in his wake.
As an interested observer, I can’t help but notice that James Dean, Brando, and even Travolta (rumor has it) share a certain something... and that “something” is smokin’ hot homo erotic love. Paradoxically, the more gays are accepted into the mainstream, the more Eros dies. Domestically partnered, suburban, baby carriage pushing gay men might as well just be straight as far as Eros is concerned. Neutered!
Sometimes it seems like I've forgotten my birthright - the inheritance of Eros. Sometimes I need a wake up call, and Rebel Dog is calling.
The lives of James Dean and Heath Ledger have interesting parallels. Both died tragically at the peak of their careers, both receiving posthumous Academy Awards. Both were sexually attractive to men and to women, expressing a certain air of androgyny on screen. Both their roles and their lives had a strong impact on popular culture, and they both played roles with an undercurrent of homosexual religious martyrdom - Dean was cast as John the Beloved Disciple in Hill Number One, an Easter television special.
The number 55: James Dean won his Academy Award in 1955, died in 1955, driving a Porsche 550 Spyder, he was pulled over for driving 65 in a 55 speed zone on the day he died. See Sign Language for 55 synchs at Gosporn.
"Little Bastard", Dean's 550 Spyder, was customized by George Barris, who went on to design the Batmobile.
Coincidentally, the #1 pop song in the US at the time of Dean's death, "The Yellow Rose of Texas" by Mitch Miller, was also featured in Giant in a scene following the actor's last appearance in the film. See The Yellow Rose Again for some interesting semiotic connections with this old standard.
Picked up some Red Star brand Active Dry Yeast at the market today, and came back to find this gem - from Red Dawn 2010. Unfortunately, I doubt if we can rely on the People's Liberation Army to do our job for us.
Kirkland is having their semiannual Reuse -Recycle-Conserve Event this weekend, and the flyer has new rules, which include the (federally mandated) need for every single battery to be individually wrapped in plastic or have both terminals covered in tape, and I kinda hit the roof with that one. I have a big coffee can full of AAA batteries that was dutifully waiting for the Recycling Event, but I'll be damned if I'm going to spend my time wrapping batteries as an unpaid Waste Management employee. It's almost as if they don't really WANT me to recycle.
It reminds me of the attempt of four star hotels to decrease their washing expenses by guilting their patrons into leaving their dirty sheets on the bed for an extra day or two - in order to save the planet. I'm sorry, but when I'm paying top dollar for a luxury hotel, one of the MAJOR luxuries is clean sheets every evening! I didn't notice a "saving the planet" refund on my bill. Funny how saving the planet only seems to benefit upstream in a Capitalist society.
Var had a Russian boyfriend back in the day, and Sergei related how soft drinks were vended in Russia: The machine supplied the drink, and the state supplied the glass. You picked up your glass, got your drink, and when you were done, you brought your glass back and washed it with state provided scrub brush and soap, and left it - sparkling clean for the next comrade. No muss, no fuss, no millions of plastic pop bottles choking the life out of the oceans.
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to live in a place where I could trust my anonymous comrades to wash my glass, as if it were their own. What are the advantages of mutual trust to a biosphere? I wonder if She would tend to select for that attribute - and this is the real nutcracker: how might She give a competitive chance... to the noncompetitive?
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. --Matthew 5:5
NOTES:
That is one crazy 55 synch. See Goro for more pentagram craziness.
"When Hephaestus bound Hera to a magical chair, Dionysus got him drunk and brought him back to Olympus after he had passed out. For this act, he was made one of the twelve Olympians."
Here we have Spock, AKA Vulcan/Hephaestus, "drunk" from the spores of the planet Omicron Ceti III. Captain Kirk eventually rescues Spock (returning him to "Olympus"), so it makes me wonder if Tiberius Kirk isn't resonating sump'n sump'n Dionysus? Dionysus is always shown carrying his pine cone tipped thyrus, or fennel, wand (translation: always holding/playing his organ of reproduction), so interesting that Chris PINE played the most recent incarnation of Captain Kirk.
John Belushi is probably the most overt Dionysus resonating archetype from Saturday Night Live, narrowly winning out over Chevy Chase and Michael Myers. In 1978's National Lampoon's Animal House, he becomes "Bluto" (Blue toe, or maybe blue tow, as in the blue tug boat) - the patron saint of the toga party, presiding over a movie that is essentially a Dionysian coming of age/initiation ritual for Thomas Hulce - Pinto.
My own fraternity had a rather wonderful Dionysian initiation ritual: the first house kegger of the year always culminated in the upper classmen throwing the freshmen into "frosh pond" - a drunken baptism. The Kappa Sigs had a famous drinking song, another curious tradition:
"Here's to (brother's name) he's true blue, he's an asshole through and through. So may he find, at the bottom of his glass, a solid gold nugget and a piece of ass! Now drink!"
Remember that piece of ass part, because upcoming is the Dionysus myth with adult homo content.
Jim Morrison, of the Doors (door to Hades?) consciously evoked the archetype of Dionysus before his premature death due to excessive "wine". Morrison was "born again" via Valentine Kilmer, who resonates Valentine, the heart, and the gay God Eros. Val also played the "Dark Knight", that Lord of the Underworld.
When Dionysos goes to Hades to retrieve his mother, Semele, to bring her to Olympus, he meets Prosymnos on the way. According to Arthur Evans in his book The God of Ecstasy, Christian writer Clement of Alexandria reports:
Dionysos wanted to descend to Hades but did not know the way. A certain Prosymnos promised to show him for a price. The price was indecent but not for Dionysos. The price he asked of Dionysos was a sexual favor.
Upon his return from the underworld, Dionysos can’t locate Prosymnos because he has died and instead has sex with a wooden dildo made from the branch of a fig tree in order to pay his due to his guide.
So a gay man is the God of Ecstasy's guide to the Underworld??? It figures.
Dionysus is known as the god of many names, many-forms, and a seat of ambiguity. Not only is he both masculine and feminine, his very nature is shape-shifting. By holding opposites in dynamic tension, he achieves his power of paradox like no other deity. --Carnaval.com
That cracks me up, because Charles Atlas promised to build muscle with his patented system of "Dynamic Tension".
Dionysus was identified with the lamb, and called "King of Kings," "Only Begotten Son," "Savior," "Redeemer," "Sin bearer," "Anointed One," the "Alpha and Omega." Hmmm....
Both Jesus and Dionysus were born of mortal women, both are "twice born", both are associated with fertility symbolism like the fig tree and wheat or bread, lions and panthers, and perhaps most succinctly, both are indelibly associated with wine and the vine.
Dionysus (AKA the Roman Bacchus) was the God of Wine, and his Bacchanals were the means through which he was worshiped during initiation into the Dionysian Mysteries. Jesus makes the wine flow like water at the wedding in Galilee - his first recorded miracle in the Gospels:
On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."
"Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come."
His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.
Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."
They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now." --John 2:1-10
Jesus says "I am the vine, you are the branches" and the association of Jesus with the grape vine goes on and on throughout the murals of the cathedrals of Europe. The most holy Christian sacrament is the drinking of WINE and BREAD during communion... the Last Supper.
Of course, the Jesus I was taught about in Sunday school was a chaste virgin, and all things associated with wild partying and Bacchanals were strictly forbidden. It's as if the archetype of Dionysus, the God of expansion, ecstatic love and orgasmic release, went "under cover". I wonder why? Maybe he's edging, holding back the orgasm, building the tension. maybe... he's saving the best till now. Can't hold back that dam forever. The dam WANTS to break...
"The human male cock is the tentacle tip of a joyous multidimensional shapeshifting multi-modality ecstacy experiencing BEAST of enormous proportions..." more
