Aug 1, 2010
It’s been a pretty crazy month in the synchrosphere. Not that they ALL aren’t crazy, so maybe it’s just me. OK, obviously it’s just me. But the oddness just keeps piling up, and given the “2010: The year we make contact” myth, and all the Jupiter, Iron/Tin Man stuff, it does make me wonder.
Today is Lughnasadh, a traditional harvest festival - the “first fruits”, so to speak. That’s when we pick the first grapes, etc. Varen offered me a blueberry from one of our bushes... very sweet. The sunlight has been strange today... an unusual reddish tint that makes all day seem like sunrise or sunset. I felt like maybe a good day to sunbathe, considering it’s Sun Day. Var is especially proud of his marigolds this year, made me wonder about the effects of gamma radiation. I should ask the Fantastic 4?
This evening, we saw a hunk walk by in a sleeveless plaid shirt, arms bulging. Var said “how white trash”, and I thought, “Yea... hot”. Then the ice cream man drove through the neighborhood. No big deal, except his truck was playing “What Child Is This”. WTF?
What Child is this who, laid to rest
On Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing;
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
A rather excellent question: “What child is this?” Perhaps we are about to find out.
