Elvis Roma

Now they've discovered an image of Elvis 1800 years old - a Roman statuette:

"Antiquities specialist Georgiana Aitken added: 'It bears an uncanny likeness to Elvis Presley. It's the quiff that does it."

Elvis as Mithras... and is that the same thing as Jesus? Or not.

Yet another ancient Mithraic head resembling the Pelvis himself. Odd. I was immediately struck by how much this one smacks of the highly stylised artwork in the canon of the late, great Polish sculptor, painter, and evolutionary theorist, Stanislav Szukalski, whose Melusinesque "Mermaid" I'm using here as my avatar now. Yeah, I could've used his "Merman" sculpture, true, but dude, that was just a tad scarier. Come on in! The water's fine ( :-)}
