The Love Gun - Part 2

A continuation of my probing examination of The Iron Giant. For previous raving, see The Love Gun - Part 1.

Hogarth finds a temporary refuge for the iron giant at his friend Dean’s junkyard. Dean makes metal art from scrap. Dean is angered when the giant cannot tell the different between his art and the scrap - it all tastes fine to the robot. Again, we see the ego choosing between "good" and "bad".

Dean is a father/priest/shaman character who helps guide and initiate Hogarth into the “mysteries”. Here we see him in his kimono with the yin/yang (experience of duality) symbol, the Eastern equivalent of the Christian cross.

Dean offers Hogarth a strange brew (espresso) that I see as standing in for the sacred plant entheogen of religious tradition. Note the tribal shaman masks on the wall.

When Dean befriends the Id robot, he soon begins to use him to help create his art, which is a classic function of the Id. However, when Hogarth sees this, he feels it is a bit undignified for a “giant robot” to be doing “arts and crafts”.

“Do you have a better idea, little man?”

Indeed he does - and turns the robot into an amusement park thrill ride!

Hogarth turns a junked '59 Cadillac Eldorado (a neat trick since the movie was set in 1957) into a “rocket” that the robot SPINS around him, and that's when I snorted coffee up my nose, because: In Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, we visit the fabled city of ELDORADO that features a central obelisk (the masculine Id) about which SPINS some kind of alien UFO stargate?

The Erection

"The obelisk. The obelisk is the key?"

Indeed. Every key has a key hole, and this would be the spinning Eldorado, AKA the Holy Grail - the Divine Feminine.

Meanwhile, in the Ballroom of the Gateway Plaza hotel...

Here is hapless Deimos, the fallen angel from Class Comics, in an episode called “The Phallus Key” - which features our hero assaulted by wicked occult types who plug a golden phallus up his “divine feminine” in order to open a GATE to hell! (It must be said that the hell of Class Comics is full of brawny, super hung demons who are always fucking each other. Heaven or hell? You decide.)

If Hogarth were older, he would have undoubtably tried to have sex with the robot, which would be very Id-like, I think. When it comes to the Id, art is lovely and amusement park thrills are great, but sex sells. It is unfortunately true that you simply cannot get an accurate picture of the Id within the constraints of a PG rating.

Which brings me to Dom Orejudos' (AKA Etienne, Stephen) homoerotic classic that envisions sex with a giant robot - the porn version of the Iron Giant!

The Army is helpless!

Hunky student Moose McMacho builds a super robot in order to win the campus science fair. He unwittingly presses the “sex maniac” button when selecting the robot’s personality type, and soon the Id is running amok in the streets, fucking every ass in sight!

The dis-arming button

Id sees the Eldorado. AKA "booty".

We see that our hero, Meat Man has to surrender his ass to the Id in order to save the world. In the end, the robot is destroyed, but his phallus is firmly lodged within Moose. God, that’s just beautiful.

NOTE: Today has been a day of dazzling synchs, some are calling it a "synch storm". One personal example was that as I drove through town this afternoon, I saw a red '59 Cadillac Eldorado parked on the street, in mint condition. Of course, I didn't have a camera.

Focus Pocus

Is that a pyramid in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

Given the major Horus signifiers I'm seeing lately, the "hard-on" wing sail of the BMW/Oracle America's Cup challenger being the most obvious, I am also seeing a deluge of butts on my favorite gay porn sites. Not that butts aren't always a major feature, but it just seems like suddenly, everyone is a top, and all we want to look at is rosy pink hole. WTF?

I'm reminded of Aleister Crowley's piquant definition of the "Eye of Horus".

"Oh, how superior is the Eye of Horus to the Mouth of Isis!" - Aleister Crowley

Which oddly enough, sounds an awful lot like King David's exclamation of adoration for Jonathan:

Very pleasant wast thou to me; Wonderful was thy love to me, Above the love of women! --2 Samuel 1:26

The sun really DOES shine out his ass.

It began with the latest Titan Studio anal-fest called "Eye Contact". Even ADMIRE got into the down under action this week. But it took Doug at Unnatural Devotions to really bring it home. Doug was doing his usual bang up job of porn reviews, giving a blow by blow description of Liberate Studios RogereD:

"his ass, creamy as a nougat, mouth-wateringly round and smooth, becomes the focal point..."

The FOCAL POINT!? Or is that fecal point? Whatever. Make your sniggering school boy scatological jokes elsewhere, this is serious synchromystic investigation we are doing here at Gosporn!!

The focal point of an image is the point where the eye chooses to linger - a mostly unconscious "decision". There is much diagraming and vectoring in art schools on the subject. The most obvious example of a focal point is in vanishing point perspective, see exhibit A.

Exhibit A

Which brings us around to Exhibit B - the single most famous example of vanishing point perspective in all of collective consciousness, accomplished from within the single "eye" of the Millennium Falcon! An eye that, now that we mention it, has a certain charming resemblance to the segmented muscular rings of... the nether regions.

Exhibit B

Summing up: Horus + asshole = lightspeed, or in today's popular idiom: stargate. To paraphrase the Dark Lord:

"Do not underestimate the power of the backside."

NOTES:

I apologize in advance for offending the sensibilities of DWS (dear web surfer). I attempted to censer the unbelievably hot Titan Men image as best I could.

Via www.hol.com (not making this up):

The EYE OF HORUS has a very specific meaning. The eye is represented as a figure with 6 parts. These 6 parts correspond to the six senses - Touch, Taste, Hearing, Thought, Sight, Smell. These are the 6 parts of the *eye*. The eye is the RECEPTOR of *input*. It has these six doors, to receive data.

The construction of the eye follows very precise laws. The senses are ordered according to their importance. And according to how much energy must be *eaten* by the *eye* for an individual to receive a particular sensation. All of the sensory data input is *food*.

In the Ancient Egyptian measurement system, the EYE OF HORUS represented a fractional quantification system to measure parts of a whole.

Signs in the Road

"When he would lean against the door frame his package would hang down his left leg. When he stood upright, his meat quite obviously pointed between his legs and to the center of the earth." The Salt, by Rdyroger

Allow me to introduce to you my latest symbol. I don't even know it's official name, I'll just call it 'Mary's Box', because I first became consciously curious about it when I saw it adorning St. Mary's Star of the Sea parish in Port Townsend (see The Star of the Sea). It is made of four crossing lines surrounded by a circle, and in the center creates a perfect square. The symbol is found adorning Catholic parishes the world over, and now I see it everywhere, including Holy Family in Kirkland. Here is Holy Family's logo from their site:

I'm wondering, is the Catholic Mary also known as Gaia... Mother Earth?

The cuboid center pings with the Borg cube and the Kaaba and Kirby's Cosmic Cube. It also resonates the enormous cuboid wish-fulfilling machine of the Krell - the former rulers of Altair IV - the Forbidden Planet. See The Quest, Part III for various cubic connections.

"Mary" (the earth), was divinely inseminated (or raped, depending on your point of view), which leads us easily to the myth of Europa, divinely inseminated by Zeus in the form of a bull. Europa is also the moon of Jupiter "divinely inseminated" by the black monolithic (masculine) intelligence in Arthur C. Clark's Space Odyssey opus. Europa was declared strictly taboo in 2010: Odyssey Two:

"ALL THESE WORLDS ARE YOURS EXCEPT EUROPA. ATTEMPT NO LANDINGS THERE."

Is that a rocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to muse that mythically, Europa = Forbidden Planet = Mary = Earth. AKA the Holy Grail. Curiously we have myths of antediluvian beings forbidden to meddle with "her", but did so... anyway.

Anyhow, while all this was tumbling around in my head, I stumbled upon this interesting "manhole" while walking the dogs, which features the same tic-tac-toe insignia within a circle. M O N? Didn't mean much, but the fact that it was made in Sultan, WA did. Sultans were the rich Arabic kings in the land of the Jinn. Wasn't Princess Jasmine the daughter of a Sultan? And wasn't Barbara EDEN, of I Dream of Jeannie, a 'wish fulfillment machine'?

Larry Hagman was the Masonic astronaut boyfriend of Jeannie, but I always wondered about his commitment. See The Copycat Effect for recent hag man references.

Later I happened upon the same manhole, but from the opposite direction, and I saw N O W. I think Momma's... ready.

A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. --Revelations 12:1-2

--------------------------------------

I Dream of Jeannie Trivia:

Barbara Eden's (then) real life husband, Michael Ansara, made three appearances on I Dream of Jeannie. (Eden and Ansara were divorced in 1974.)

Happy Anniversary" 9/12/1966 as Blue Djinn (Lord Shiva)

"Battle of Waikiki" 1/2/1968 as King Kamehameha (Lord of Hawaii and Pele)

My Sister the Home Wrecker" 12/9/1969 as Biff Jellico (Jericho. Joshua "wrecked" Jericho.)

There Be Dragons

Swanker's entry 120 at ADMIRE symbolically joins leather men and manhole covers - a classic pun noted here in Rosebud, as well as the synch that the stargate in Disney's 'Enchanted' is a Manhole in Times Square.

I was walking Oliver the terrier a few days ago when I spied this interesting work of art - a child's chalk (limestone) drawing of a great scaly dragon - devouring a manhole!

Rosebud

The final enigmatic word of Orson Welles' character in Citizen Kane is "Rosebud". What Welles meant to signify by it is a common enough debate, considering that his own explanation was so patently coy:

"It's a gimmick, really, and rather dollar-book Freud".

I seriously doubt it, considering head Hollywood magician Steven Spielberg plunked down $60,500 for the sled in 1982 - to hang above his typewriter.

Gore Vidal flirted with the truth in 1989, when he cited contemporary rumors that "Rosebud" was a nickname Hearst used for his mistress Marion Davies; a reference to a sensitive part of her anatomy.

Considering the fact that the name is attached to a vehicle of transportation - and a classically magical one at that - I think we can safely suppose that Welles DID mean to reference a hole, but he was thinking bigger (or infinitely smaller) than Miss Davies. Rosebud signifies the divine feminine, the Rosy Crux, the Holy Grail. Spielberg has a stargate talisman hanging over his typewriter! Cain (Paris) and the Grail (Helen), over and over and over again.

What I find endlessly (boorishly) fascinating is that holes are always feminine - even when found on men... as Jake Kotze points out: "The specific local of "Enchanted's" Stargate is through a MANhole in Time Square".
